“More Good Days”

More Good Days is a song inspired by former NHL goaltender and long-time broadcaster Kelly Hrudey, and the connection he and his family have to improving mental health supports across Canada and beyond.

This song came on the heels of a podcast – The Biz Dojo, with Seth Anderson and J.P. Gaston. The songwriting, instrumentation and vocals were put together by J.P., and the lyrics and style of the song attempt to connect Kelly’s inspiring story to the strong messaging of More Good Days.

Kelly’s and his daughter, Kaitlin, both endured mental health struggles. One day after several years of attending therapy, Kaitlin told her parents out of the blue that she was “having more good days than bad”. It would later become the brand name for their clothing company, More Good Days Clothing Ltd., which supports Canadian mental health organizations by donating 10% of every sale.

The song that was created is a nod to both stories, the clothing line, and is intended to serve as a message of hope to all who endure mental health concerns.
